Confirmed: Officer who spent two decades at 2x CL winners joins Everton in backroom role

Everton has bolstered its leadership team with a behind-the-scenes hire following over two decades of experience at Chelsea.

The two-time Champions League winners, one of the wealthiest clubs globally, have undergone significant changes under new ownership.

Similar to Chelsea, Everton has new owners as well, with The Friedkin Group taking charge in December.

Simon Hunter has been appointed as Everton’s new Chief Stadium Commercial Officer.

The club revealed on 15 March that they have made two new leadership appointments ahead of their move to a new stadium next season.

One of these appointments is Simon Hunter, who spent more than 20 years at Chelsea, where he held various roles, including Head of Hospitality, Head of Venue and Brand, and Director of Venue and Hospitality, among others.

Alongside him, Aaron Duckmanton has joined as Chief Marketing and Digital Officer.

Everton’s move to Bramley-Moore Dock seems poised to begin on a strong note with these strategic hires.

Hunter brings a wealth of experience in driving revenue growth and overseeing high-value commercial operations. His impressive track record includes managing £90 million+ P&L portfolios and leading some of the Premier League’s top hospitality services, positioning him to maximize Everton’s stadium revenue both on matchdays and beyond.

His expertise in negotiating global brand partnerships and leading large-scale projects aligns well with Everton’s aim to enhance its commercial reach.

Hunter’s leadership style, focused on empowering teams and fostering collaboration, will help ensure long-term profitability and innovation, making him the ideal candidate to elevate Everton’s commercial potential and improve the fan experience at their new venue.
