Leeds United react to Angus Kinnear exit developments with Everton

Angus Kinnear could be on the move from Leeds United with an appointment at Premier League outfit Everton mooted.

Kinnear has been a crucial figure at Leeds but all the signs are pointing towards a possible exit from Elland Road in favour of a job at Everton.

Leeds look destined to achieve promotion this time around, and Kinnear has played a pivotal role in those successes behind the scenes.

However, it appears that after eight years with the Whites, his time could be coming to an end with The Friedkin Group keen to add him to their ranks on Merseyside.

Angus Kinnear linked with Everton appointment, Leeds respond

Kinnear’s departure would be a huge blow for Leeds, and the role he has played throughout his time at the club is showcased by the success that they are currently enjoying under Daniel Farke.

In fact, Kinnear could have quite easily decided to sack Farke after the failure of the last campaign but opted to back the German instead which has paid off this time around.

Despite the links connecting him with a role at Everton, Leeds have said that the focus of everyone at the club is solely on achieving promotion, via Joe Donnohue, with no comment made on the developments outside of that.

Kinnear certainly took a risk for Leeds in the winter after making no new additions in the transfer window, yet just as many of his other decisions have, it has paved out quite well for the Whites who sit pretty at the summit of the Championship.

Leeds must prepare for life without Angus Kinnear

Echoing the sentiment from Leeds, promotion simply has to be the only focus for the Whites with just 13 games remaining.

While Kinnear’s departure would be a loss, they simply cannot be affected by it as they enter the most crucial period of the campaign.

With another promotion six-pointer approaching against Sheffield United, the focus must only be on winning that game and if they do, Leeds can all but prepare for a Premier League campaign.
