Report: New twist emerges in Jack Harrison’s Everton saga amid rumours of Leeds United return in January

Jack Harrison is not enjoying the best of times in an Everton shirt this season as the Leeds United winger struggles to replicate his best form under Sean Dyche this season.

Harrison was one of eight players to leave Leeds on loan following relegation, using a release clause inserted by Victor Orta in the event that The Whites dropped into the Championship from the top tier.

In doing so at the end of 2022-23, Leeds waved goodbye to Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Marc Roca, Rasmus Kristensen, Luis Sinisterra, Brenden Aaronson, Max Wober and then Harrison to Everton.

Koch, Sinisterra, Roca and Llorente have left permanently, Aaronson and Wober are back at Leeds while Kristensen and Harrison saw their loan clause active for a second summer and have gone on loan again.

Journalist shares if Leeds have a recall clause for Jack Harrison

Former Manchester City star Harrison has failed to score for Everton since February. He continues to start games for Everton but missed glorious chances against Wolves, Chelsea and then City in recent games.

Everton fans are growing tired of Harrison and his lack of impact in the final third, with many calling for Harrison to go back to Leeds this month. The Liverpool Echo however, deliver an update on Harrison.

They say that actually, Leeds do not have a recall clause in Harrison’s loan deal. Everton can of course cancel the loan, but the chances of them doing so are zero given he continues to start games for them.

Where does Harrison’s long-term future lie – Leeds or Everton?

Everton fans don’t want Harrison and Leeds fans will feel Harrison’s tenure at Leeds is over given he has gone on loan twice since relegation. But he has a contract at Leeds until the summer of June 2028.

However, Graeme Bailey has told LeedsUnited.News that Everton’s new takeover means Harrison’s future at Everton is zero beyond his loan. Bailey feels that if Leeds get promoted, Harrison could return to Leeds.

Whether The 49ers, Angus Kinnear, Daniel Farke or even the Leeds fanbase would be open to Harrison returning to Elland Road in the summer remains to be seen. But it might be, Leeds will need a buyer.
