Everton midfielder Tim Iroegbunam is likely to face fitness issues for weeks once he returns from his injury, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert claims that his rehab will be response-based and for him to be ready to play 90 minutes again, it will take multiple games off the bench.
This comes after Sean Dyche stated on 20 December that Iroegbunam was still behind the curve as he’s recovering from a foot injury.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Iroegbunam: “Given Dyche’s recent comments, he is dealing with a stress response in his foot which is a precursor to a stress fracture if you continue to load it.
“His rehab will be very methodical and response-based, particularly in the foot.
“Considering he’s been out for months, he will face match fitness issues and it will be a weeks long and multiple games long process to return to 90 minutes.“
Tim Iroegbunam faces a tough road to returning to the Everton strongest eleven
Based on Dr Brar’s comments, it seems like until February Iroegbunam may not be considered a regular starter.
He started well at Goodison Park but his injury will have curtailed all his momentum and it will be like starting afresh.
It remains to be seen if Sean Dyche will find a way to accommodate him into his best eleven as he’s not known to chop and change things much.
