Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on a prolific Togolese striker, though they are not alone in the race for his signature.
Spurs are expected to strengthen their forward line with multiple additions this summer, including a central striker. With Richarlison tipped to leave, Roberto De Zerbi’s side are in need of another number nine to provide competition for Dominic Solanke—a player the Spurs boss greatly admires.
Now, it appears the Lilywhites have turned their attention to a forward currently plying his trade in Major League Soccer.
Tottenham battling La Liga side for Kevin Denkey
According to Diario de Sevilla (via Sport Witness), Tottenham have targeted FC Cincinnati striker Kevin Denkey as they look to bolster their attacking options.

Denkey enjoyed a strong spell in Belgium with Cercle Brugge, where he notched 66 goals and 20 assists in 152 appearances, before moving to MLS in January of last year. The 25-year-old has continued his fine form in the United States, scoring 31 times in 54 outings for Cincinnati—including 13 goals in 17 matches so far this season.
The report adds that Spurs are competing with Real Betis for the Togo international, with the La Liga side viewing the former Cercle Brugge man as a player who can challenge Cucho Hernandez for a starting spot.
Three other European clubs eyeing Denkey
Interest in the Cincinnati striker extends beyond England and Spain. Two French clubs and a German heavyweight are also monitoring the situation.
The outlet claims that Paris FC, Lille, and Borussia Dortmund have all shown interest in bringing Denkey back to Europe ahead of next season.
Cincinnati, for their part, are reportedly willing to cash in on their star striker for around €15m (£13m).
