Leeds United are closing in on promotion to the Premier League, as they prepare to take on Stoke City on Easter Monday.
Daniel Farke’s men have enjoyed three consecutive victories in the second tier and sit top of the league after beating Oxford United on Friday.
Manor Solomon’s goal handed Leeds their 1-0 victory at the Kassam Stadium, and the Whites could seal promotion if they beat Stoke.
Should that happen and Sheffield United drop points at Burnley, Premier League football will be confirmed again at Elland Road.
Gabby Agbonlahor fires dig at Leeds United
While the Whites could rubber stamp their promotion to the Premier League by the end of Monday, Gabby Agbonlahor could not help but make a joke.
Speaking live on talkSPORT on 21 April [6:42 am], he said: “Great if Leeds do come up, because it’s six points for Villa.”
Leeds need successful transfer window to survive in Premier League
Monday’s meeting between promotion rivals Sheffield United and Burnley has created an ideal scenario for Leeds, who could seal their promotion to the Premier League with two games to spare.

Leeds have hit strong form at the right time
But the current top-flight campaign is set to mark the second consecutive season in which all three newly-promoted teams have suffered relegation straight back to the Championship.
To avoid a similar fate, the Whites will have to enjoy a successful summer transfer window to prepare themselves for life in the Premier League.
Farke’s men look set to test themselves against the likes of top-flight champions-elect Liverpool and Champions League semi-finalists Arsenal next term.
The Elland Road faithful will be pleased that Leeds have already put some of the groundwork in place ahead of the summer transfer window, while Farke must bolster his squad.
The Whites have already set their sights on Germany international Julian Weigl, who formerly plied his trade for Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund and could prove to be a quality Premier League player.
Big changes look to be coming.
