‘I love him’: Jorgen Strand Larsen insists Wolves have a truly ‘amazing player’ on their hands in £21m star

Jorgen Strand Larsen made headlines again this weekend, but the Wolves striker was keen to talk up one of his teammates after the win over Ipswich Town.

Wolves won 2-1 at Portman Road to all but end the relegation battle.

The result took Wolves 12 points clear of the drop zone, with Pablo Sarabia and Jorgen Strand Larsen the goalscorers on Saturday.

It was Wolves’ third straight win, and everything now seems to be clicking under Vitor Pereira.

Strand Larsen is the main man right now, with four goals in three games for Wolves. But all 11 players that have started the last few games have been terrific.

And one man who continues to stand out is Andre, with Strand Larsen heaping praise on the Brazilian after Saturday’s win.

Jorgen Strand Larsen hails ‘amazing’ Andre after Wolves’ win over Ipswich

Andre has come in for a lot of praise in recent weeks at Wolves, having started to shine in midfield.

It’s fair to say the Brazilian has a low-key start to the season under Gary O’Neil, but he has now come to the fore and is one of Wolves’ most influential players.

After Saturday’s win, Strand Larsen spoke about Andre, who went viral on social media for taking a Wolves fan’s phone and celebrating during the game with Ipswich.

It’s clear the number nine loves playing with the star, who he actually counts as one of his best friends at Wolves.

He said (via E&S): “He’s crazy and I love him!

“He started that goal with a great pass, he’s an amazing player but also a crazy person.

“One of my best friends in the team, such a good guy and he deserves all the credit.”

Wolves are lucky to have Andre

Strand Larsen’s sentiments will no doubt be shared by many Wolves fans, who are loving what Andre brings to the table.

We’re now seeing what a brilliant player he is, and his partnership with Joao Gomes in the Wolves midfield is very exciting. One does wonder if the presence of Andre at Molineux was a factor in Gomes recently signing his new contract at Wolves. He must love to play alongside his compatriot.

Andre – who was voted Wolves’ Player of the Month for March – just has that wonderful knack of constantly being available for Wolves.

He’s always there at the base of the midfield offering himself as an option, and can recycle the ball and play line-breaking passes.

Statistically he is just so strong in possession, having the second highest pass accuracy of all Wolves players so far this term, and having the best accuracy for long balls.

He also puts a foot in, and the way he celebrates tackles gets fans eating out of the palm of his hand.

It’s exciting to think how good he could become for Wolves, and hopefully this will not just be a fleeting visit for the South American. Realistically, he will be attracting a lot of interest before long.
