Aston Villa now keen on signing £54m star whose agent is speaking to Barca

Aston Villa Set Sights on “Exceptional” Winger in £54m Summer Transfer Plans

Aston Villa are already making preparations for the upcoming summer transfer window, with a strong interest in securing an “exceptional” winger for approximately £54 million, according to recent reports.

Emery Backs Villa’s Summer Plans Amid Spending Speculation

Since Unai Emery’s arrival at Villa Park, the club has been highly active in transfer windows, and this summer looks to be no exception. The Villans have already been linked with Genoa’s Morten Frendrup, while Emery has personally scouted Villarreal’s Juan Foyth. Additionally, Villa are reportedly leading the race to sign young striker Charalampos Kostoulas.

However, their ambitions don’t stop there. Reports from Spain suggest that Aston Villa have shown interest in Barcelona’s Ferran Torres. The club has been monitoring the Spanish international closely, though competition from Manchester United and Liverpool could make negotiations challenging. Despite this, Villa are considered the frontrunners for his signature, with Emery fully endorsing the move, believing Torres would fit seamlessly into his attacking system. While Torres has been a key figure for Barcelona, the club’s financial situation means they are open to offers in the range of €35-40 million.

Aston Villa Eye £54m Move for Atalanta Star Ademola Lookman

Alongside their pursuit of Torres, Villa are also tracking Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman. According to Caught Offside, the Midlands club is among several Premier League teams—including Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle, and Tottenham—monitoring the 27-year-old, who is expected to leave Atalanta this summer as he enters the final year of his contract.

Lookman, praised as “exceptional” by former Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o, is reportedly available for around €65 million (£54 million). However, Villa will face competition from European heavyweights such as Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, and Juventus, with the La Liga giants already making contact with his representatives.

Lookman’s Atalanta Form Raises Interest

Since joining Atalanta in August 2022, Lookman has made 110 appearances, scoring 50 goals and providing 22 assists. His standout performances helped Atalanta secure Europa League glory last season, and his impressive form has continued this campaign with 13 goals in 23 Serie A appearances. However, recent comments from manager Gian Piero Gasperini regarding a missed penalty have cast uncertainty over his long-term future at the club, increasing speculation about a summer exit.

With Villa’s ambitions clear and Emery’s backing for key signings, the club is gearing up for another busy transfer window in their push for further success.
