Rangers have shown a keen interest in Motherwell starlet Lennon Miller in recent months.
It is fair to say that the 18-year-old is one of the brightest talents in Scottish football right now and is caught the eye as a result.
The versatile midfielder has featured regularly for the Well in the past two seasons and could be in line for a big move in the upcoming summer transfer window.
With interest coming from Ibrox, former striker Ross McCormack has shared his verdict as to why a deal is yet to go through.
Rangers yet to make move to sign Miller
It is fair to say that the youngster has plenty of potential suitors and is being spoken about by fans of plenty of different clubs right now.
This is certainly the case after Miller put in a positive performance at Ibrox in Motherwell’s most recent win on Saturday (1 March).
With that being said, the Light Blues have been urged to complete the signing of the midfielder with the transfer window fast approaching.
The Scotland under-21 international has been described as “the perfect signing” in Govan by Peter Martin but is yet to be linked with a concrete move to G51.
Gordon Dalziel has suggested to Clyde One Superscoreboard (4 March) that the youngster could prefer a stay at Fir Park for regular first-team minutes.
He said: “Lennon Miller will probably get more of an opportunity at Motherwell, a club like Motherwell like to get their youth through and Lennon Miller obviously shows up in training and they believe that he’s good enough.”
Regardless of this fact, McCormack has alluded to the idea that the Gers are yet to make a move to sign the midfielder.
He added: “When Rangers come calling as a young kid, you go. So the fact that they wanted Bailey Rice and not Lennon Miller tells me everything. Back then, Rangers could have had their pick.”
Rangers must make Lennon Miller swoop
There is no doubt that the Light Blues need to begin their turn around in the summer and look towards closing the gap to Celtic.
One of the ways that they can do this is by bringing in the best in class of the Scottish Premiership when the opportunity arises.
The Ibrox board have already proved their ability to do this by bringing Lyall Cameron in on a pre-contract agreement during the winter transfer window.
Now the Gers have to look to take a similar approach with Miller given how useful he could prove to be in the coming years in G51.
