50% discount: “Decisive” attacker who Wolves want now available half-price due to special clause

Wolverhampton Wanderers are targeting a “decisive” forward this summer, and according to reports, a special clause in the player’s contract means he will now be available for half the original asking price.

Wolves face the prospect of player departures this summer, with the club currently battling relegation after a difficult stretch in the Premier League. Although they secured a crucial win against Aston Villa, their form has been concerning, compounded by a tough fixture schedule.

If relegation occurs, Wolves may struggle to keep their top talent, with the possibility of selling key players. However, even if they manage to stay in the Premier League, they could still face departures, especially with top clubs such as Arsenal, Manchester United, and Nottingham Forest linked with a move for Matheus Cunha. The forward has been vital this season, scoring 11 Premier League goals, and Wolves boss Vitor Pereira will be eager to keep him.

Should Cunha leave, Pereira will need to strengthen his attack. Reports indicate Wolves are among the clubs interested in signing Hertha BSC’s Ibrahim Maza, with competition from seven Premier League sides, including Newcastle United and Manchester City.

Maza had been valued at €20m (£16.7m) in January, but a clause in his contract now means his price has dropped significantly to around £8m. The 19-year-old has impressed in Bundesliga II, with five goals and four assists in 21 appearances, earning an average rating of 7.10. His performances have drawn attention, and freelance scout Ben Mattinson believes he has the potential to play for a top-tier club.

If Wolves avoid relegation, signing Maza could be a smart move, particularly given the now reduced price tag.
