Beto shares fascinating David Moyes chat that has changed his Everton career after Sean Dyche’s exit

Beto delivered his best performance for Everton in a long while during the match against Leicester City, and since then, he’s shared some intriguing thoughts.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin sidelined due to injury against Brighton, Beto returned to the starting lineup. Calvert-Lewin is expected to be out for several weeks with a hamstring issue.

On transfer deadline day, an update on Armando Broja’s injury indicated he’d be out for four to five weeks, meaning Beto is now set to take charge as Everton’s primary striker for the time being.

Although Beto has had a tough time at Everton, things may be about to turn around. He recently praised David Moyes for the positive impact he’s had on his confidence.

After scoring a brilliant brace against Leicester, there’s hope that Beto can build on this performance.

Beto has the potential to be a successful Premier League striker, but things haven’t clicked for him so far at Everton. Many believe he never got a fair chance under previous manager Sean Dyche.

Speaking after the Leicester match, Beto admitted to struggling with confidence, but said Moyes’ arrival has helped him feel much more at ease.

He shared (via evertonfc.com): “He’s done a lot for me, just telling me: ‘Play your game, make those runs, be aggressive, try to challenge the defenders. Jump, even if I don’t win the ball.’ That really gave me confidence – no, it gave me a boost – because I can play my game, and I know he believes in me. Even if I’m on the bench, I know he’ll trust me to come in and do my job.”

With both Calvert-Lewin and Broja out, Beto now has the perfect opportunity to cement his place in the team.

Everton didn’t sign a new striker in January, and Moyes reportedly hesitated to invest in players who wouldn’t necessarily improve the squad. It seems the manager is content to put his faith in Beto, which suggests he’s confident in his abilities.

So far, Beto has made 55 appearances for Everton, scoring 10 goals and providing 2 assists.

Though his Everton career has been slow to take off, the change in management could be just what he needs. Beto seems to enjoy playing under Moyes, and with his recent remarks, fans are hopeful he can become more prolific and secure his future at Goodison Park. His positive attitude has certainly won the supporters over.
