‘Needs to open his ears’ – Bianca Westwood responds to Gary Neville after bizarre West Ham fans dig

Bianca Westwood has expertly defended the West Ham United fans after an odd remark from Gary Neville.

On Monday night, West Ham faced Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League, with Gary Neville working as a co-commentator. Despite the loss, West Ham played well and deserved a better result. Jarrod Bowen was outstanding, while Mohammed Kudus didn’t fully impress, but overall, the team put in a strong performance.

Graham Potter has made significant progress since taking over at the London Stadium, and West Ham fans clearly appreciate the strides he’s made with the squad. Under his guidance, the team plays with more intensity, a better-organized press, and greater composure, with fluid and intricate play patterns.

The away fans at Stamford Bridge were clearly enjoying what they saw. It’s worth noting that key players such as Lucas Paqueta, Jean-Clair Todibo, Michail Antonio, and Crysencio Summerville were missing due to injury.

I’m excited to see what Potter can do with a fully fit squad.

Bianca Westwood responds to Gary Neville’s dig at West Ham fans

In the middle of the game, Neville claimed the West Ham fans only had one song. This accusation was quite strange. Anyone watching the match or at the game would have heard the away support belting out their full setlist from start to finish, including classics like “Bubbles,” “Stick the Blue Shirt…,” “Graham Potter’s Claret and Blue Army,” “My Name is Ludo Miklosko,” and numerous chants in honor of Andy Irving.

Thankfully, Bianca Westwood took to her X account to call out Neville’s bizarre comment. Her response was spot-on.

The West Ham fans were outstanding at Stamford Bridge, unwavering in their support throughout the match. The chants for Andy Irving were a fantastic tribute, and the Scottish midfielder would surely have appreciated them.

The atmosphere in the away end was electric for the full 90 minutes. Gary Neville’s swipe at the West Ham fans was odd, but Bianca Westwood did well to put him in his place.
