Beto reportedly had another “confrontation” with David Moyes to express his desire to leave Everton during the current winter transfer window, according to Tuttosport.
The Italian outlet, in a report on January 27, revealed that the striker wants to depart Goodison Park after agreeing on personal terms with Torino, and Moyes has given him permission to leave.
As a result, Torino resumed negotiations on Sunday night (January 26), offering £12.6 million for the Guinea-Bissau international after initially securing him on loan. However, Everton are holding out for around £16.8 million, though the deal could be finalized for £15.1 million in a loan-to-buy agreement with an obligation.
It’s unexpected that Moyes would approve Beto’s departure so close to the transfer deadline on February 3, especially after Dominic Calvert-Lewin picked up an injury during Everton’s 1-0 win over Brighton on January 25.
Everton are also working to cut short Armando Broja’s season-long loan and send him back to Chelsea following a long-term injury, as reported by The Mirror.
Letting Beto leave for Italy would leave Everton short on attacking options. However, it seems they are making plans to sign a new striker before the window closes, especially after Moyes expressed a desire to bring one in.
The club had scouts watching Rangers striker Hamza Igamane during their 3-1 win over Dundee United on January 26, according to Tuttosport.
Moyes is likely to be busy at the end of the transfer window, with Everton also nearing a £5 million deal for Angelo Preciado from Sparta Prague.
