Contact made: Nottingham Forest make new move to sign 24 y/o for Nuno; he’s sponsored by Adidas

Nottingham Forest have reportedly renewed contact regarding a potential move for Brazilian defender Vitao in 2025.

The Reds are currently enjoying a strong Premier League campaign under Nuno Espirito Santo, recently securing a 3-0 victory over Wolves to extend their winning streak to six matches. With 40 points and a spot in the Champions League places, Forest are firmly in the hunt for European qualification as the season progresses.

To aid their push for Europe, Forest are considering strengthening their squad during the January transfer window. However, Espirito Santo has emphasized the importance of staying focused and avoiding distractions during the winter market, stressing that his current players must remain committed and work hard.

Several players have been linked to the City Ground, including Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz and Galatasaray’s Baris Alper Yilmaz. Another name on the club’s radar is Fluminense talent Kaua Elias, while the pursuit of a Brazilian defender has resurfaced following previous rumors last year.

Forest are reportedly rekindling their interest in Internacional’s Vitao, a move that was previously linked with West Ham in the summer. Although no official offer has been made yet, Brazilian reports suggest Forest have reached out to the defender’s representatives to explore the possibility of a transfer.

The 24-year-old centre-back, who can also play right-back, is valued at €9m by Transfermarkt and has made over 140 appearances for Internacional. Vitao also has European experience from his time with Shakhtar Donetsk and could offer a versatile option for Forest as they continue their push for Europe. Whether Forest follow up on their contact by submitting an official bid remains to be seen.
