Toffees ring the changes in attack as Struggling ‘Fans Favorite’ on the Bench

Everton boss Sean Dyche has made a surprise decision to start Beto up front against Manchester United, dropping struggling striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin to the bench.

Calvert-Lewin has been a key player for the Toffees in recent seasons, but he has struggled to find his form so far this campaign. The 26-year-old has scored just two goals in 12 appearances, and Dyche has clearly lost patience with his lack of productivity.

“Beto has been working hard in training and has shown a great attitude,” said Dyche. “He’s got a lot of quality and we’re hoping he can make a big difference for us against Manchester United. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a top player, but he’s not been at his best so far this season. We need to shake things up and try something different.”

Beto’s inclusion in the starting lineup is a bold move by Dyche, but it’s clear that he’s trying to spark a reaction from his team. The Portuguese striker has been limited to just a handful of appearances so far this season, but he’s shown glimpses of his quality in those games.

“I’m grateful to the gaffer for giving me the opportunity to start,” said Beto. “I know it’s going to be a tough game, but I’m confident that we can get a result. I’ve been working hard in training and I’m feeling sharp. I’m ready to go out there and give it my all.”

Everton’s team selection for the match against Manchester United sees Beto lead the line, supported by Dwight McNeil and Neal Maupay. The Blues’ midfield is marshalled by the experienced duo of Idrissa Gueye and Abdoulaye Doucoure, while the defence is led by captain Conor Coady.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are looking to bounce back from their recent defeat to Aston Villa. The Red Devils have a strong squad, led by the likes of Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, and Casemiro.

“Manchester United are a top-class team with a lot of quality players,” said Dyche. “But we’re not going to Old Trafford just to make up the numbers. We’re going there to get a result, and we’re confident that we can do that.”

The match at Old Trafford promises to be a challenging one for Everton, but with Beto leading the line, the Blues will be hoping to cause an upset. Can they get a result against one of the top teams in the Premier League? Only time will tell.

Everton team: Pickford; Young, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Lindstrom, Doucoure, Gueye, Ndiaye; McNeil; Beto.

Manchester United team: Onana; Dalot, De Ligt, Martinez, Mazraoui, Casemiro, Mainoo, Diallo; Fernandes, Zirkzee, Rashford.
