Chelsea Receive Triple Injury Boost Ahead of Leicester Clash

Chelsea’s preparations for Saturday’s Premier League encounter with Leicester City have been bolstered by the return of Cole Palmer, Levi Colwill, and Jadon Sancho to training.

The trio’s participation in Monday’s session suggests they are on track to be fit for the lunchtime kickoff at the King Power Stadium, a significant boost for manager Enzo Maresca.

Palmer and Colwill had withdrawn from the England squad due to injury concerns, while Sancho had been struggling with illness and a knock. Their availability would be a welcome relief for Maresca, who has relied on Chelsea’s impressive squad depth to maintain their unexpected surge to third in the Premier League table.

Colwill and Palmer have been integral to Chelsea’s Premier League XI, while Sancho made an instant impact with assists in three consecutive games before his layoff.

However, Chelsea’s injury concerns are not entirely alleviated. Romeo Lavia picked up a hamstring issue on international duty with Belgium, although the 20-year-old has downplayed its severity.

The availability of Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, who returned late from South America, remains uncertain. Meanwhile, Wesley Fofana (knee) and Malo Gusto (ankle) are doubts after withdrawing from France’s national team.

Maresca will be hopeful that his squad’s fitness issues are minimized ahead of the Leicester clash, as Chelsea seek to build on their impressive start to the season.
