Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has told winger Manor Solomon he is not part of his plans for next season, giving the Israeli international the green light to find a permanent move away from North London this summer.
De Zerbi’s decision brings a swift end to Solomon’s hopes of reviving his Spurs career under his former Shakhtar Donetsk coach.
Solomon joined Tottenham on a free transfer in the summer of 2023 after a productive loan spell at Fulham. But his time in London has been plagued by injury.
Only six weeks into his first season, a serious meniscus tear in training restricted him to just six first-team appearances and ruled him out for the remainder of the year.
To regain match fitness, Solomon was sent out on several loans—including a standout stint at Leeds United, followed by shorter and less consistent spells at Villarreal and Fiorentina.
With the arrivals of Mathys Tel and Xavi Simons over the past 18 months, Spurs have effectively moved on from the ‘unplayable’ Solomon, and De Zerbi has made it clear that a clean break is the best option for everyone involved.
Solomon’s contract runs until June 2028, so Tottenham could still command a reasonable transfer fee to support their summer recruitment.
Leeds United remain admirers of their former loanee, while Crystal Palace previously showed interest before pulling out late in the process. Whether either club reignites that interest this summer remains to be seen.
