Tottenham are actively looking to strengthen their attacking options as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Behind the scenes, Spurs’ hierarchy is treating this transfer window as a pivotal moment, with the aim of propelling the club back to the upper echelons of the Premier League. They’ve already secured two free transfers and have reportedly reached an agreement with Brighton for Jan Paul van Hecke, who could become their third signing of the summer.
ENIC are also prepared to shatter the club’s transfer record in a bid to bring Sandro Tonali over from Newcastle United. However, they’ll face stiff competition from both Arsenal and Manchester City. On the bright side, Tonali is said to be keen on joining Roberto De Zerbi’s project at White Hart Lane.
Beyond bolstering the midfield, Tottenham are in the market for a striker and a winger to stay competitive next season. The need is pressing—they’re already down three attackers, with Xavi Simons and Wilson Odobert sidelined by ACL injuries, and Randal Kolo Muani returning to PSG after his loan expired.
According to Sky Sports, De Zerbi is keen to add a versatile forward capable of playing across the front three. After injury crises disrupted the last two campaigns, the Italian manager wants flexible options at his disposal.
Currently, Mathys Tel and Richarlison can both cover multiple roles in attack, but consistency has been an issue for both—even though Richarlison managed 11 league goals by the end of the season. If Tottenham are to progress as a team, an upgrade on Richarlison may be necessary, especially as he enters the final year of his contract in July. Fellow striker Dominic Solanke also struggled to make a significant impact in the 2025–26 campaign following ankle surgery.
One name now on their radar is FC Köln’s Said El Mala. The young German had an impressive season in the Bundesliga, registering 13 goals and five assists in 34 appearances.
Though primarily a left winger, El Mala is also comfortable on the right or through the middle as a centre-forward—exactly the kind of versatility De Zerbi is looking for, making him an appealing target for Spurs.
