Tottenham Hotspur are preparing a bold move to land Newcastle United star Sandro Tonali this summer.

Spurs have already seen one bid turned down but are gearing up to submit another. According to the BBC, Tottenham have kicked off formal talks with an opening offer in the region of £80 million. Unsurprisingly, Newcastle quickly rejected the proposal, holding out for a fee closer to €100 million.
Despite that setback, Spurs remain undeterred. The club’s leadership is ready to come back with a much-improved second offer.
Head coach Roberto De Zerbi has long admired Tonali, tracking his progress since his early days at Brescia. The 26-year-old is seen as a cornerstone for De Zerbi’s ambitious project in the capital.
Tonali open to Spurs switch
As reported by the Daily Mail, Tonali is receptive to reuniting with De Zerbi at Tottenham, with the prospect of working under the Italian coach said to appeal strongly to the player.
