Everton have reportedly set their sights on PSV Eindhoven winger Johan Bakayoko, but the Toffees will face stiff competition from Premier League rivals and Bundesliga clubs in their pursuit of the Belgian attacker.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Bakayoko is on Everton’s radar, and the club has made contact with PSV regarding a potential deal. The Dutch giants are prepared to cash in on the 22-year-old, who has a year left on his contract.
Bakayoko’s stock has risen significantly, and he has become one of the most coveted attackers in Dutch football. The winger has flourished on the right wing, and his performances have caught the attention of several top clubs.
With a year left on his contract, PSV are under pressure to sell Bakayoko or risk losing him on a free transfer next summer. The Eredivisie giants will likely prioritize a lucrative sale over allowing him to depart for nothing.
This isn’t the first time Bakayoko has been linked with a move to the Premier League. Last summer, he was close to joining Brentford after the Bees lodged a club-record £34m offer. However, he opted to stay with PSV and see out another season.
