Aston Villa Set Sights on Samu Omorodion as Unai Emery Seeks to Bolster Attacking Options with £30m Move

As the summer transfer window enters its final stages, Aston Villa are reportedly willing to pay a substantial fee of £30m to secure the services of Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion, a player who has garnered significant attention from manager Unai Emery and sporting director Monchi.

The Villans have already enjoyed a successful transfer window, welcoming the likes of Ian Maatsen, Amadou Onana, and Jaden Philogene to the club, and are now seeking to add further depth to their attacking ranks with the acquisition of Omorodion. The 20-year-old Spanish forward, who spent last season on loan at Alaves, has impressed with his potential and could provide a valuable backup option for Ollie Watkins.

According to reports in Spain, relayed by Sport Witness, Aston Villa are prepared to meet Atletico Madrid’s valuation of €35m (£30m) for Omorodion, who was previously linked with a move to Chelsea before the deal collapsed. Emery and Monchi are said to be admirers of the forward, who boasts an impressive goalscoring record and has been praised for his powerful finishing ability.

The addition of Omorodion would provide Emery with a third high-quality attacking option, alongside Watkins and Jhon Duran, and could complete the manager’s attacking overhaul. With the club set to balance Champions League and Premier League commitments, the signing of Omorodion would undoubtedly bolster Villa’s attacking ranks and provide a significant boost to their squad.
