Goodison Park received a final fitting send-off on Sunday, with Everton beating Southampton 2-0 to leave on a high.
It was an emotional day on Merseyside, as supporters said goodbye to their home stadium, one that holds so much history.
However, after a torrid few seasons, the prospect of looking towards aĀ new era at Bramley-Moore DockĀ is something to get excited about.

Simon Jordan reveals Everton insight into move from Goodison
The history ofĀ EvertonĀ was certainly celebrated on Sunday, although not everyone involved in the celebrations got aĀ warm welcome from the Goodison crowd.
Nevertheless, pundits and former players shared their memories of the stadium and celebratedĀ Evertonās comfortable safety in the Premier League.
Itās a bittersweet move for the Toffees, who will not be keen to leave a stadium full of life behind them.
However, asĀ The Friedkin GroupĀ look to kick off their reign of the Blues in style, the move allows for more revenue opportunities, as well as providing better facilities.
With the takeover finally going through, David Moyes returning to the helm and Everton safe from relegation, it does feel like a meaningful time to be moving.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (19 May, 12:57 pm), Simon Jordan has shared that this sentiment has been echoed throughout, saying: āIn the instance of kicking on, Everton believe emphatically.
āI had this long conversation with my friend George Downing, who lent Everton Ā£100-odd-million to help them complete their building contract, which Friedkin then paid back, and heās a massive Everton fan.
āHis big thing was this is the opportunity for us now, this new stadium. We must not lose the opportunity to build this new stadium and have to renegotiate the building rights.
āWith all the digital enabling, with all the opportunities that are inside this stadium, it gives the football club a real opportunity to reassert itself amongst the haves rather than the have-nots.ā
Everton ready for new era
There is probably never a good time to leave a stadium that is a home with so much history, likeĀ Goodison, but with everything that Everton has had to face, this is a fresh start on and off the pitch.
What Jordan was told by Downing highlights that this is certainly the feeling inside the camp as well, and if everyone is on the same page about where Everton can get to, it makes for an exciting project.
There is plenty of work to be done, andĀ TFG will be keen not to go too far, too soon, with any progress needing to be sustainable.
However, when youĀ consider the changes under Moyes himselfĀ without lots of investment, it does make for exciting thinking about what could come.
