🤭’Unbelievable’ – Sky Sports pundit shocked by what he heard about Rangers live on air

James McFadden Surprised as Rangers Break Winless Streak with 4-0 Victory Over Aberdeen

James McFadden was left stunned as Rangers ended their six-match winless streak across all competitions with a commanding 4-0 win against Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership at Ibrox on Sunday, 11 May.

Despite a goalless first half, Rangers dominated the second, with goals from Vaclav Cerny, Cyriel Dessers, Hamza Igamane, and Jefte sealing a comfortable victory and all three points. While the result holds little significance in the broader context of the season, it gave the Ibrox faithful something to celebrate.

McFadden Reacts to Startling Rangers Statistic

During the broadcast, commentator Ian Crocker revealed to McFadden that caretaker manager Barry Ferguson hadn’t won a match at Ibrox since taking over in February. Crocker also noted that the club hadn’t kept a clean sheet in the league since their 4-0 win over Ross County on 2 February.

Those revelations clearly shocked McFadden, who called the statistics “unbelievable” and noted how important the win would be for Ferguson, even if the team had little left to fight for this season.

“That’s unbelievable, isn’t it? Not winning games here at Ibrox, clean sheets as well,” McFadden said during Sky Sports’ coverage. “I mean, people look at it and say the season is done and it doesn’t really matter, but it matters to him [Ferguson] to get that win and keep a clean sheet. [They are] certainly on course to do it.”

Ferguson Set to Depart

Ferguson, who helped Rangers reach the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals, has struggled to replicate that form in the Premiership. With only four league wins under his belt, his chances of landing the permanent managerial role have diminished.

Following Rangers’ Europa League exit in April, it became clear Ferguson would not be in contention for the long-term post. Still, with two fixtures remaining, he’ll aim to end his interim tenure on a high.
