🚨EXCLUSIVE: ‘Everton hit by transfer blow as senior man closes on Wolves move’

Everton are set for a busy summer as they look to build a squad capable of competing higher up the Premier League table.

David Moyes returned to Goodison Park in January after Sean Dyche was sacked following a disappointing first half of the season.

The Scottish manager has guided the Merseyside giants to safety as his side currently sit 14th heading into the final three games of the campaign.

Everton have multiple players out of contract on 30 June, with Moyes looking set to work with a completely different squad next season.

Asmir Begovic, Joao Virginia, Seamus Coleman, Ashley Young, Michael Keane, Mason Holgate, Idrissa Gueye, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Neal Maupay are all currently set to leave the club for free next month.  

Meanwhile, loanees Orel Mangala, Jesper Lindstrom, Jack Harrison, Carlos Alcaraz and Armando Broja will return to their parent clubs if permanent deals fail to materialise over the coming weeks. 

Everton set for huge overhaul after deals agreed

The Friedkin Group (TFG) has been making changes behind the scenes since completing its takeover in December. 

Angus Kinnear is set to join as CEO from Leeds United, while Nick Hammond is also making the move from Elland Road, where he’s been working in the recruitment department.

However, Kevin Thelwell will join Rangers as sporting director this summer and chief commercial officer Richard Kenyon is also leaving the club.

Journalist Alan Nixon reported on 4 April Everton’s head of recruitment Dan Purdy is set to become the latest departure as he’s closing in on a move to Wolves.

Kinnear was understood to be keen on keeping the highly-rated 31-year-old despite TFG’s efforts to revamp the club’s executive team.

It will come as a significant blow for Everton to be losing a key figure in their recruitment department, particularly to a Premier League rival.

The Merseysiders have several tough decisions to make over the coming weeks with so many players out of contract next month.

Their budget is also likely to still be fairly limited following their previous profit and sustainability (PSR) issues, meaning they will have to be smart with their recruitment.

Calvert-Lewin to open new Everton talks

It appears as though Calvert-Lewin’s Everton future is likely to be resolved soon as he is set to hold new talks with club chiefs in the coming weeks. 

The 28-year-old made his first appearance since January in the 2-2 draw against Ipswich Town on 3 May after recovering from a hamstring injury.
