‘If it was me’: Steve Bull has just urged Wolves to do something they haven’t all season against Leicester City

Wolves Host Relegated Leicester as Steve Bull Issues a Challenge to the Players

Wolves welcome already-relegated Leicester City to Molineux on Saturday afternoon, and club legend Steve Bull has made a clear request to the players ahead of the match.

Vitor Pereira’s side can approach the game with a sense of freedom, having secured their Premier League safety with a 1-0 win over Manchester United last Sunday. While survival was mathematically confirmed then, it had been clear for some time that Wolves were not in danger.

With the pressure now off and little left to play for this season, Pereira may look to hand 17-year-old academy star Mateus Mane his debut, following his standout performances at youth level.

However, Steve Bull has a different view. The Wolves legend is urging the team to go all out and humiliate Leicester City this weekend.

Steve Bull Calls for Wolves to Thrash Leicester

In a week where Jamie Vardy confirmed he would be leaving Leicester at the end of the season, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side will still be fighting for pride, even though their relegation was sealed against Liverpool. Vardy will be especially motivated as he chases two more goals to reach the 200-goal milestone for the club.

Ahead of the clash at Molineux, Bull has challenged Wolves to do something they’ve yet to achieve this season: put five or six goals past an opponent. Their highest-scoring matches so far were a 4-1 win over Fulham in November and a 4-2 victory against Tottenham this month.

“If it was me, I’d pick the strongest possible lineup. If we can get an early goal, this Leicester side will crumble,” Bull wrote in his column for the Express & Star. “I’d love to see us score four, five, even six! But Leicester won’t just roll over. Van Nistelrooy and his players are still fighting for their futures, and we must take the game to them.

“It’s about us – we’re at home and we owe it to our fans to put on a show. A lot of players’ futures are uncertain too, so there’s still plenty to play for.”

Wolves Eye a Strong Finish

Wolves made history last weekend, completing their first-ever Premier League double over Manchester United and winning five straight league games for the first time.

Pereira’s men have built real momentum and could climb as high as 12th place if they maintain their form.

There’s added incentive to finish higher, as a stronger league position brings increased prize money and could make Wolves more attractive to potential signings this summer. That’s crucial, especially with Matheus Cunha expected to depart, leaving Pereira in need of a replacement for the Brazilian star.

A higher finish would also set the tone for next season’s ambitions, with a strong summer transfer window potentially sparking a push for a top-half finish.
