Celtic fans have many fond memories at Hampden in the Scottish Cup.
Just last season, Celtic beat Rangers in the showpiece Glasgow Derby final where Adam Idah was the Parkhead club’s hero that afternoon.
Just this season, Celtic broke Rangers’ hearts in the League Cup after one of the most dramatic final’s at Hampden fans have seen in a generation.
And now, St Johnstone stand in Celtic’s way of reaching another cup final and Anthony Ralston has a particular memory against Rangers the defender wants to recreate against the Perth side inside Hampden this afternoon.

Anthony Ralston wants iconic Jota memory vs Rangers recreated against St Johnstone
The last time Jota appeared in a Scottish Cup semi-final for Celtic was in the 1-0 win against Rangers at Hampden back in 2023.
In that season, the Hoops secured their record-breaking eighth domestic treble but to get there, Celtic had to beat Rangers and the scenes afterwards is what Ralston is looking forward to seeing again.
Ralston told The Herald, “Every game is important when you are a Celtic player, but these are the ones you need to win to give yourself the opportunity to actually get your hands on the trophy, so we are all fully focused.
“The semi two years ago when Jota scored the winner against Rangers is a positive memory and we are hoping to create more of those on Sunday.”
The last Celtic win vs St Johnstone in a Scottish Cup semi-final set up iconic Hoops season
The last time Celtic faced St Johnstone in a Scottish Cup semi-final, it helped set up a superb end to Gordon Strachan’s iconic season in 2007.
Jan Vennegoor of Hesseling was the hero that day when he helped beat the Perth side 2-1 with this double at Hampden:
Those goals set up a final against Dunfermline where Celtic won the match 1-0 to secure a league and Scottish Cup double.
However, that wasn’t the only piece of history Strachan delivered that season. Celtic qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League for the first-time ever after the Hoops beat the likes of Man United and Benfica in one of the best seasons in Europe for a generation.
