“What is your commitment to Leicester City?”- Ruud van Nistelrooy’s SHOCKING response puts his Leicester City future in Jeopardy

“What is your commitment to Leicester City?”- Ruud van Nistelrooy’s SHOCKING response puts his Leicester City future in Jeopardy.

Ruud van Nistelrooy has cast doubt on his future at Leicester City following a shift in his stance regarding his commitment to the role.

The Dutchman has now overseen the club’s joint-longest losing streak in the league after a 3-0 defeat to Newcastle on Monday night.

Just last Thursday, van Nistelrooy expressed his determination to fight for the club’s survival and avoid running away from the challenge, even as relegation looms. However, following Monday’s loss, his tone seemed less resolute.

When asked if he still felt committed to Leicester City, van Nistelrooy said in his post-match press conference: “The most important thing is the club and these players, that’s all I can say for now.”

When pressed further on whether he saw himself continuing at the King Power Stadium, he responded: “The most important thing is the club and the players, that’s my answer.”

It seems that van Nistelrooy is seeking further discussions on the matter. Earlier, when asked whether he had met with the club’s hierarchy about the “alignment” he had mentioned last Thursday, he said: “It’s clear that the most important thing is what’s best for the club, and that’s something we also need to discuss.”

Leicester City is now dangerously close to relegation, with potentially less than two weeks to go. While they can’t mathematically go down this weekend, they could be relegated on Easter Sunday, depending on the result of their match against Liverpool or if Wolves secure a favorable result earlier in the day.

It’s not just that Leicester has endured the longest losing streak in their league history, but they’ve also failed to score in all of those eight games. At home, they haven’t found the back of the net in a league match since early December.

Reflecting on the club’s run of poor results, van Nistelrooy said: “What I want to say is that it’s very disappointing. If I speak for myself, I came here with the intent to push the club forward, but so far it hasn’t worked.

“I’ve tried different things—different players, different tactics—without success. That’s how I feel at this moment.”
