Everton are preparing for a major overhaul in the upcoming summer transfer window, with The Friedkin Group set to back David Moyes in reshaping the squad. Their aim is to build on the impressive form that has seen the Blues go nine games unbeaten in the Premier League.
However, one key player may not be part of their plans next season, which would be a significant setback as the club moves to Bramley-Moore Dock.
Branthwaite’s Future in Doubt After England Snub

Jarrad Branthwaite was omitted from Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad, and reports suggest the 22-year-old is now reconsidering his future.
Despite this, Simon Jordan has dismissed the idea that his potential departure is linked to his England exclusion. Writing in the Daily Mail (print edition, page 71, 27 March), the former Crystal Palace owner argued:
“Don’t be fooled by the timing. If he’s feeling unsettled, it’s not because of his World Cup hopes—it’s because Everton have failed to achieve anything during his time at the club.
“Marc Guehi proved at the Euros that Champions League experience isn’t a requirement to play for England. Tuchel may simply feel that Branthwaite is a solid defender but not yet worthy of the hype.”
Everton Hold the Cards in Branthwaite’s Future
Branthwaite, regarded as one of Everton’s best players, remains under contract until 2027. This gives the club control over his future, and he still has time to impress Tuchel—especially if he plays a key role in pushing the Blues up the Premier League table.
Branthwaite’s Premier League Stats This Season:
Matches: 22
Pass Accuracy: 82.4%
Tackles Won: 17 (54.8%)
Duels Won: 78 (62.9%)
Aerial Duels Won: 35 (53%)
With interest from Tottenham, Manchester United, Real Madrid, and even city rivals Liverpool, Branthwaite is expected to be one of the most sought-after defenders in the transfer window.
Everton must now decide whether to offer him a new deal to secure his future or cash in on a significant transfer fee to fund the much-needed squad rebuild. While losing Branthwaite would be a major blow for Moyes, the financial boost from his sale could allow Everton to strengthen multiple areas as they push for European qualification.
A decision will need to be made soon to bring clarity to all parties involved.
