Rangers triumphed 3-2 over Celtic in the latest Old Firm derby, thanks to a dramatic late winner from Hamza Igamane.
The Bears led 2-0 at halftime on Sunday, with goals from Nicolas Raskin and Mohamed Diomande. However, Celtic fought back as Daizen Maeda and Reo Hatate both found the net to equalize at Parkhead.
In the 88th minute, Igamane rose to the occasion, capitalizing on a long goal-kick from Jack Butland to score a brilliant winner, sending the traveling Rangers fans into celebration.
This victory marks Rangers’ second consecutive Old Firm derby win, having also defeated Celtic 3-0 in January.
Rabbi Matondo, who is currently on loan to Hannover 96 in Germany, responded to Igamane’s post after the win, commenting: “Igamaneeeee.”
Igamane’s Impact at Rangers
When Hamza Igamane joined Rangers last summer, he was relatively unknown, having played for Moroccan side FAR Rabat. However, he quickly settled into life at Ibrox, making an immediate impact with 14 goals and 3 assists in 37 appearances across all competitions.
Although Rangers’ Scottish Premiership campaign has been somewhat disappointing, Igamane’s individual performances have stood out, with 10 goals in 26 league matches. He has also been instrumental in Rangers’ successful Europa League journey, contributing 4 goals in 8 appearances, helping them reach the quarter-finals.
Igamane has already made a significant impression, scoring a brace in a 2-2 draw with Motherwell in December, followed by a hat-trick against Hibernian in January. His recent match-winning goal against Celtic has solidified his popularity with Rangers fans.
