Doctor: Everton player not expected to be at 100% until end of season after what happened on Sat

Everton striker Youssef Chermiti is still not fully fit following his long-term injury, according to Dr. Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert explains that although Chermiti featured in the match against West Ham over the weekend, he remains far from reaching his full fitness.

The 20-year-old played 11 minutes in the 1-1 draw with West Ham on March 15.

Toffees unlikely to have Chermiti at full capacity until next season

Due to the lengthy period Chermiti has been sidelined, it will take a while before he can regain his full fitness.

Since his arrival at Goodison Park, he has struggled with various fitness issues.

While Everton may have signed a promising young talent, they’ll likely have to wait until next season to see his full potential.

Stats vs. West Ham:

Minutes played: 11

Shots on target: 1

Shots blocked: 1

Dribble success rate: 100%

Pass accuracy: 40%

Duels won: 2 out of 4

Dr. Brar’s assessment

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Dr. Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Science, explained Chermiti’s progress: “His training will be gradually increasing, focusing on sports-specific actions to build his fitness, eventually leading to a return to full training. Given that he hasn’t played all season until this weekend, it will take a longer time for him to reach full fitness. I wouldn’t expect that until next season if everything goes as planned. It’s unlikely he’ll start games for a few more weeks.”

David Moyes’ role in Chermiti’s development

As Dr. Brar highlighted, it makes sense to give Chermiti time to readjust, and manager David Moyes is in a strong position to help the 20-year-old reach his potential.

Moyes will focus on harnessing Chermiti’s physicality and goal-scoring instincts, integrating him gradually into the squad. With the Portuguese striker’s injury issues hopefully behind him, Moyes is expected to use him as a substitute initially, allowing the forward to build confidence and adapt to the Premier League’s pace.

Moyes’ tactics, which often focus on direct play and aerial strength, align well with Chermiti’s abilities, as seen in his positive substitute performance against West Ham. By pairing him with experienced forwards and encouraging runs into the box, Moyes can help Chermiti develop into a key attacking option for Everton moving forward.
