Fratton Park’s Future Hinges on £20m-Rated Prodigy: Excitement as West ham willing to let go their Talismanic Star

Portsmouth FC Set to Launch Bid for West Ham Loanee Freddie Potts

Pompey sporting director, John Mousinho, has revealed plans to bring Freddie Potts back to Fratton Park next season. Potts, currently on loan from West Ham, has impressed with 27 outings this term.

Mousinho acknowledged that Potts’ first priority will be to break into West Ham’s Premier League squad. However, Pompey will be waiting in the wings, eager to secure his services once again.

“We’ll see how things play out, but my gut instinct is Freddie should go back to West Ham and challenge for their first team,” Mousinho said. “If that doesn’t work out, we’ll definitely be interested in bringing him back.”

Pompey had to wait until late August to secure Potts’ services last summer, due to West Ham’s preseason tour. Mousinho expects a similar scenario this year.

“Premier League clubs often take young players on tour, and then make decisions later,” he explained. “We’ll be patient and see what happens.”

Mousinho praised Potts’ outstanding performances for Wycombe in League One last season, which caught Pompey’s attention.

“We thought Freddie was the standout player at Wycombe,” he said. “We did our homework, and everyone spoke highly of him. He’s brought attributes we needed, and we’re keen to keep him.”
