Rio Ferdinand makes painful five-word admission after seeing Man Utd defending vs Everton

A stunned Rio Ferdinand took to social media to express his disbelief at Manchester United’s chaotic defense following a disastrous 45 minutes.

Heading into Saturday’s away match at Everton, United were precariously positioned in 15th place in the Premier League, only to fall behind 2-0 by half-time, with goals from Beto and Abdoulaye Doucoure.

The situation worsened for United as Doucoure capitalized on a mistake by Harry Maguire. Maguire was caught off guard after Andre Onana’s initial save, allowing Doucoure to power through and extend Everton’s lead, pushing United further toward potential defeat.

Ferdinand didn’t hold back his frustration, voicing his shock on X shortly after the goal: “What have I just witnessed?” Later, before United pulled one back through a Bruno Fernandes free kick, he offered further criticism.

Speaking on TNT Sports, Ferdinand remarked: “I’m sitting here, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a United team this bad. It’s been embarrassing in every aspect of the game.”

“Yes, we can talk about quality and talent, but the one thing that’s unforgivable is a lack of desire. There are moments in this game where Manchester United should look at Everton and learn from them. It’s embarrassing to watch.”

With tough times ahead, United’s manager, Amorim, admitted that David Moyes is outshining him at the club, according to the Mirror.

Moyes, chosen by Sir Alex Ferguson as his successor in 2013, has revived Everton’s fortunes since taking over from Sean Dyche. His managerial skill has seen Everton climb in the standings, including a recent win that lifted them above United in the league.

When asked on Friday why Everton, now in 14th place, have found success under new management while United struggle, Amorim answered: “It’s simple… David Moyes is doing a better job than me. It’s that straightforward.”

“Small things, like winning one or two games, build belief. The pressure isn’t the same either.”

He acknowledged the efforts of Everton’s players and coach, admitting, “We need to do the same.”

The Portuguese manager was candid in his remarks, acknowledging that his performance this season has not lived up to that of his predecessor, Erik ten Hag.
