Value’s soared: Everton hit jackpot with star who’s worth more than Ndiaye

One player who has benefited significantly from David Moyes’ return to Everton is Portuguese striker Beto.

The former Udinese forward struggled to find the net, scoring only four goals in 42 Premier League appearances during his 18 months under Sean Dyche.

However, since Moyes’ return, Beto has already scored four goals in five matches, including one in the 2-2 draw with Liverpool earlier this month. This surge in form has lifted him to second place on the club’s Premier League top-scorer list, just behind Iliman Ndiaye, who joined from Marseille last summer.

Iliman Ndiaye’s Impressive Form

Everton secured the Senegalese international from Ligue 1 side Marseille for a reported £15m before the 2024/25 season, strengthening their attacking options.

The 24-year-old has been a standout performer for the Toffees this season, scoring six goals from an expected goals (xG) of just 3.58, highlighting his clinical finishing. In addition to his goal-scoring exploits, Ndiaye has also created two ‘big chances’ for his teammates.

It appears that Everton have made an excellent investment with the former Sheffield United forward, as he leads the team’s goal tally this season. However, the Toffees’ greatest bargain may be a player worth even more than the £15m they paid for Ndiaye: Vitalii Mykolenko.

Vitalii Mykolenko’s Rising Value

The Ukrainian left-back, who joined from Dynamo Kyiv in January 2021, was initially valued at £14m by Transfermarkt, which is even less than Ndiaye’s current worth.

Now, Mykolenko has made 110 appearances for Everton, including 98 in the Premier League, and has established himself as a reliable option at left-back. This season, he has started all 23 Premier League matches, ranking second in the squad for interceptions per game (1.2), and has won 57% of his duels, showing his capability in physical contests.

Vitalii Mykolenko’s Value Increase at Everton

As the table shows, Mykolenko’s value has significantly increased during his time at Everton, now standing at £23m, £8m more than the £15m paid for Ndiaye last summer.

This reflects the Toffees’ smart acquisition of the 25-year-old, who has become a regular starter, and whose growing market value could make him a key asset in the future.

With continued performances under Moyes, Mykolenko is poised to further solidify his value both on the pitch and in the market.
