Jamie O’Hara and Jason Cundy slammed an Everton fan for what they said about David Moyes after the 4-0 win against Leicester City.
The talkSPORT pundits were baffled when the Toffees supporters refused to credit the Scottish manager for three consecutive victories in the Premier League.
Abdoulaye Doucoure’s goal in the opening seconds, Beto’s brace and Iliman Ndiaye’s stoppage-time striker sealed a victory for the Blues at Goodison Park on Saturday (1 February).
Speaking on talkSPORT (1 February, 18:12), the fan said: “[Moyes] hasn’t won three games; we’ve won three games.”
O’Hara responded: “That’s awful.”
Cundy added: “This is terrible.”
David Moyes deserves respect for Everton resurgence after Leicester win
Moyes returned to the Goodison dugout when the team needed him the most, as they were hovering close to the relegation zone under Sean Dyche.
The former Burnley head coach seemed out of his depth as he failed to get back-to-back wins this season in the English top flight.
With the Scotsman’s arrival, there seems to be renewed hope among the players and fans, with a nine-point gap between the Toffees and 18-place Leicester.
Everton now appear to be out of danger, and they will be highly confident of avoiding the drop to the Championship.
Moyes has not just changed the mood around Goodison but has also made the team more potent up front, with Beto arguably putting on one of his performances.
Under Dyche, the style of play was boring, and the Toffees seemed to lack ideas in the final third, leading to some drab displays.
The clean sheet against the Foxes will also be an encouraging sign for the supporters, with the Scottish manager putting his faith in Jake O’Brien.
Several factors are responsible for the turn in fortunes at the Blues, and Moyes is clearly the biggest one of them all.
