Everton may struggle to depend on Juventus winger Timothy Weah as a regular starter if they sign him, due to his injury concerns, according to injury expert Dr. Rajpal Brar.
Brar suggests that while the United States international could be effective coming off the bench, he might not be the best choice for a consistent starter. This comes after Calciomercato.it reported on January 30 that Everton had made an approach for the 24-year-old.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Science, shared his insights on Weah: “He’s had several injuries this season, including a potential recurring issue. However, based on his career, he doesn’t have any significant long-term injuries. I would view this more as a yellow flag—he’s not someone you can count on as a regular starter, but he can provide bursts of impact. If they’re looking for someone to start every week, he might not be the right fit.”
Everton cannot afford to take a risk on Weah’s fitness. If he’s had injury issues before moving to the Premier League, the physical nature of the league could make his situation worse. Even the best players occasionally struggle with the intensity, and the Toffees need a reliable option who hasn’t had significant fitness concerns, as manager David Moyes will need to count on all his players.
