Everton have been given the opportunity to sign former Chelsea forward Willian.
Following their 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Wednesday, manager David Moyes emphasized the need for reinforcements in the attacking department.
The Toffees have struggled offensively, with a lack of creativity in midfield and an inability to score from their strikers.
According to The Telegraph, Everton are one of four clubs showing interest in Willian.
The 36-year-old left Olympiacos in Greece after just six months, meaning he is available to join any club for free.
With a limited budget, Everton are in urgent need of attacking players, and Willian could be an ideal option. His vast Premier League experience, having played for Chelsea, Arsenal, and Fulham, means he could make an “instant impact.”
Over the course of his career, the Brazilian has made more than 775 club appearances, scoring 115 goals, and has represented Brazil 70 times, scoring nine goals. He won two Premier League titles with Chelsea, making him an appealing prospect for Everton.
With the Toffees hovering near the relegation zone, the club’s new owners must support Moyes with funds this month to secure new signings.
Everton may also be in the market for a new striker due to Armando Broja’s injury, with Moyes confirming that Broja could be sidelined for up to 12 weeks and may return to Chelsea.
In addition, Jack Harrison could be offloaded to make room for domestic loans. Moyes is reportedly interested in Chelsea players Carney Chukwuemeka and Ben Chilwell, both of whom could depart Stamford Bridge this month.
Everton are also considering re-signing their former striker, Tom Cannon, who is likely to be sold by Leicester City.
Although Willian is nearing the end of his career, he could still make valuable contributions to Everton, making him a risk-free signing.
