MOT View: Leeds liability surely on his way out after what his teammates were seen doing

Illan Meslier dropped a series of howlers against Hull City and his Leeds United teammates were seen fuming at the Frenchman after the second goal and quite simply his days must be numbered.

Leeds fortunately still occupy the summit of the Championship but Meslier is certainly not the reason for that after his calamitous performance against the Tigers on Saturday, as Hull fought back from 3-1 down to secure a 3-3 draw.

If anything, his exit from the club could actually boost the Whites’ chances of promotion and you can see that the frustration is starting to leak among the playing squad.

A clip was shared widely on social media showcasing the immediate fume of the Leeds defenders after Meslier handed Hull a way back into the game.

Joe Rodon in particular was seen lambasting his goalkeeper with Joel Piroe another who looked fed up.

Meslier is surely finished at Leeds United

How many times can Daniel Farke come out and defend his ‘keeper for single-handedly costing his side a game? The argument could certainly be made that it has happened far too often already this season.

If Leeds fail to achieve promotion, you can pinpoint at least 10 occasions when Meslier has directly impacted the Whites’ ability to pick up maximum points and it’s becoming a concern that even the most optimistic cannot ignore.

A promotion-winning side need strong defensive foundations and, with Meslier, they have everything but that with it hard to locate a single strength in his game.

As soon as that feeling starts to spread among the squad, morale can dip and it will affect results even further.

Change is needed urgently or else Leeds can start planning for another campaign in the Championship.
