🚨BREAKING NEWS: Well-known commentator jokes about ‘retiring’ after Nottingham Forest prediction

Nottingham Forest have ruined the reputation of a number of pundits and commentators this season, and we can now add Geoff Shreeves to the list.

The fine run from Nottingham Forest has plenty of similarities to Leicester City when they won the Premier League, not that we’re saying the title is in reach.

Jamie Carragher and Gary Neville think it’ll get as good as sixth for Forest, but no one can predict anything with how this season has gone so far.

One thing that is for certain is that this Nottingham Forest squad are willing to do anything for Nuno Espirito Santo, and they’ve taken to his ideas brilliantly.

To add to the list, there’s one commentator who’s really impressed and shocked with how things have gone at the City Ground is Geoff Shreeves.

Geoff Shreeves jokes about retiring after Premier League predictions

When Geoff Shreeves speaks, people normally listen.

The well-known commentator now takes up analyst work too and was speaking on CBS Sports Golazo recently after Nottingham Forest’s win over Everton.

Shreeves was asked about whether he thinks Forest can sustain their current form and here’s what he had to say.

“From what we’re seeing this season, we would have never expected this from Manchester City, we didn’t expect this from Chelsea, expect this from Bournemouth, so I think I’m retiring as an analyst on the basis of my predictions.”

Jamie Carragher has already apologised this season

Gary Neville continues to tease Jamie Carragher about his early season prediction involving Nottingham Forest, as he actually tipped them to go down.

The Liverpool legend has since apologised though, but we won’t forget.

“Forest is the big one that I’ve got wrong, they came pretty close the last couple of years. I thought they maybe might have been affected by a point deduction this season, maybe with PSR.

“But some of the transfers they’ve done in the past, those sort of players are coming into fruition, now you look at the centre-backs they’ve got, they’ve been outstanding.

“And also what I got badly wrong is under appreciating how much quality they’ve got in attack, when you look at the attacking players, you know, Chris Wood at the top end of the pitch, Anderson who’s come in, Morgan Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi, Elanga.

“Those attacking players are probably players you’d expect to play for a team in the middle of the in the Premier League, actually, so I probably didn’t do my homework enough.”
