‘Hopeful’-Sean Dyche shares double injury boost in Everton update ahead of Nottingham Forest clash

Everton are on somewhat of a roll in recent weeks with some seriously impressive draws to their name.

Boxing Day provided a late Christmas present for Everton fans who saw their side pick up another point on the road against Manchester City.

But it is not time for Sean Dyche to start converting some of these draws into victories with Nottingham Forest coming up next.

The Friedkin Group were in attendance for the draw against Chelsea and they will be delighted to see Everton’s resilience since their takeover.

However, the Toffees could do with putting three points on the board as they remain around the relegation zone.

And they could see two of their top players returning to the pitch after sustaining injury issues in recent weeks.

Everton share Iliman Ndiaye injury update

Injuries have played a large part in Everton’s season with Dyche struggling to nail down a regular starting XI due to various players missing.

During the draw against City, Iliman Ndiaye suffered a calf injury which forced him to be withdrawn in the latter stages of the game.

Speaking to the media on Friday, Dyche admitted he is hopeful of seeing both Ndiaye and Seamus Coleman in the matchday squad on Sunday.

“We’ve got to make sure on Iliman. I took him off in the last game for a minor tightness in his calf. We’re hopeful that will have settled. And Seamus is similar; just as a precaution,” said Dyche.

Ndiaye really impressed against City on Boxing Day with his goal showing the quality which he has brought to the Toffees since signing in the summer.

But the early indications are positive that the Senegal international will be good to go at Goodison Park on the weekend.

Sean Dyche shares Dwight McNeil injury update

Dwight McNeil picked up an injury before the Arsenal game just over a week ago and the midfielder has been unable to feature since.

The Everton playmaker was not included in the matchday squad on Boxing Day as he continues his recovery behind-the-scenes.

And it seems as if McNeil may miss another game on Sunday with Dyche aslo sharing an injury update on the 25-year-old.

“We’ll have to wait and see. It’s still a bit of a touch-and-go scenario with these games coming thick and fast. So, it’s a maybe at the minute as to whether Dwight makes it,” Dyche added.
