BREAKING NEWS: Top 10 highest earners at Nottingham Forest including a surprise number one, absolutely shocking

Nottingham Forest are enjoying a very solid campaign in the Premier League under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Jamie Redknapp has praised the Forest head coach and long may this new perception of Forest continue in the media.

Forest knew that something had to change in the summer and eleven players were added, with two of them joining Olympiacos on loan.

The Reds prioritised quality over quantity and it’s a policy that has seen the team steer comfortably clear of the bottom three even at this stage of the season.

Forest have narrowly stayed up in the other two Premier League seasons and the idea is that this season can be a more comfortable experience.

Evangelos Marinakis considered sacking Espirito Santo twice last season but he must be delighted that he didn’t in the end.

The Reds look like a proper team at this level now and it’s pleasing to see from a supporters perspective.

An old – and often tiresome – perception is that Forest have bought the success that they’re currently having and that does feel a little harsh.

Some of the recruitment has been largely good in the last few windows with some serious bargains obtained.

With the January transfer window just around the corner, we decided to have a look at the top 10 highest-paid players at the City Ground.

Top 10 highest paid players at Nottingham Forest

The statistics for this come courtesy of Capology who advise that they are purely estimated figures.

10 – Ola Aina – £40,000-a-week

This might change soon, with Forest extremely keen to get Aina tied to a new contract before the January transfer window really gets into full swing.

9 – Neco Williams – £50,000-a-week

Williams has just started to get himself back into the team and he’s not disappointed anyone when called upon during the 2024/25 campaign.

8 – Taiwo Awoniyi – £50,000-a-week

Right now, this does feel like a bit of a waste of wages but it’s fair to say that since he signed in 2022, he’s done more than enough to help Forest preserve a Premier League status.

7 – Ryan Yates – £50,000-a-week

Recently penned a new deal with the captain now getting exactly what he deserves as an integral performer in the Forest midfield.

6 – Ibrahim Sangare- £75,000-a-week

Another player who certainly hasn’t really justified this wage – or his transfer fee – just yet. There is time though and he needs some luck on the injury front.

5 – Chris Wood- £80,000-a-week

Wood is being eyed for a new contract too and this wage could rocket if he gets the two year deal that he desperately craves.

4 – Morgan Gibbs-White – £80,000-a-week

Another player who richly deserves this wage and if Forest can maintain their current form, perhaps Gibbs-White might be rewarded in the near future too.

3 – Callum Hudson-Odoi – £80,000-a-week

Was always likely to be on a sizeable sum of money given that Forest managed to sign Hudson-Odoi for an astonishing £3 million.

2 – Nikola Milenkovic – £105,000-a-week

Worth his weight in gold. Milenkovic has been hailed by Robbie Earle and he’s helped Forest improve massively in both boxes.

1 – James Ward-Prowse – £115,000-a-week

The number one on this list is slightly flawed as it’s unlikely Forest will be paying all of Ward-Prowse’s wage whilst he’s on loan from West Ham.
