West Ham United Set Sights ‘OUT CAST’ Striker as January Transfer Window Looms

As the January transfer window draws near, West Ham United are reportedly stepping up their pursuit of Brighton striker Evan Ferguson. The 20-year-old Republic of Ireland international has been in impressive form for the Seagulls this season, and his performances have caught the eye of Hammers manager Julen Lopetegui.

According to sources close to the club, West Ham have declared their intention to sign Ferguson in January, and are confident of securing a loan deal for the young striker. Ferguson’s impressive form has also attracted interest from a number of other top Premier League clubs, including Newcastle United, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Arsenal.

However, it is understood that West Ham are the current favourites to sign Ferguson, and the club’s technical director, Tim Steidten, is believed to be working hard to secure a deal for the young striker.

“Evan Ferguson is a top-class striker with all the attributes to succeed at the highest level,” said former Arsenal striker Ian Wright. “He’s got pace, power, and finishing ability, and he’s already showing a level of maturity that belies his age.”

Wright’s comments are echoed by Lopetegui, who is reportedly keen to bring in a new striker in January. The Spanish tactician has been impressed by Ferguson’s performances for Brighton, and believes that the young striker has the potential to make a big impact at the London Stadium.

“We’re always looking to improve our squad and bring in players who can help us achieve our goals,” said Lopetegui. “Evan Ferguson is a talented young player who has already shown his ability in the Premier League. We’ll be keeping a close eye on him in the coming weeks.”

West Ham’s interest in Ferguson is likely to be driven by the club’s need for a reliable goalscorer. Summer signing Niclas Fullkrug has been sidelined since September with a persistent Achilles tendon injury, and the German striker has yet to score for his new club.

With Fullkrug’s future at the club uncertain, West Ham are keen to bring in a new striker who can provide a consistent goal threat. Ferguson’s impressive performances for Brighton have caught the eye of Lopetegui, and the West Ham manager is reportedly confident that the young striker has the potential to make a big impact at the London Stadium.

As the January transfer window approaches, West Ham’s interest in Ferguson is likely to intensify. The club’s fans will be hoping that Lopetegui and Steidten can secure a deal for the young striker, and bring some much-needed firepower to the London Stadium.

“We’re excited about the prospect of bringing in a new striker in January,” said Lopetegui. “Evan Ferguson is a talented young player who has already shown his ability in the Premier League. We’ll be doing everything we can to bring him to the London Stadium.”
