Spanish Gait Set Sights on West Ham Outcast in Shock January Move

Real Madrid are weighing up a surprise bid for West Ham United centre-back Nayef Aguerd, according to reports in Spain. Aguerd is currently on loan at Real Sociedad, where he has impressed with his performances, and Los Blancos are considering bringing him on board to bolster their injury-hit defence.

Aguerd’s success in Spain has not gone unnoticed, with the Morocco international sitting first among Sociedad players for clearances (37) and passing completion (90%), and third for aerial duels won (20). His impressive form has caught the attention of Real Madrid, who are short of numbers at the back after Eder Militao and Dani Carvajal suffered season-ending injuries.

“Nayef Aguerd has been one of the standout performers for Real Sociedad this season,” said football pundit Guillem Balague. “His defensive skills and aerial ability would be a great addition to Real Madrid’s squad. However, it’s unclear whether Sociedad would be willing to let him go, given his importance to the team.”

According to reports, Real Madrid are willing to activate Aguerd’s recall clause, which would allow them to bring him back to the Bernabeu in January. However, it’s unclear whether West Ham would be willing to let him go, given his potential value to the team.

“West Ham would be crazy to let Aguerd go,” said former West Ham player and current pundit, Tony Cottee. “He’s a top-class defender who has shown his quality in Spain. If Real Madrid come calling, West Ham should do everything they can to keep him.”

Real Madrid’s interest in Aguerd is not the only surprise move being mooted in the Spanish capital. The club are also reportedly interested in Tottenham Hotspur full-back Pedro Porro, as they look to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window.

“Real Madrid are always looking to improve their squad, and Aguerd and Porro would be great additions,” said football journalist, Duncan Castles. “However, it’s unclear whether they would be able to get the deals done, given the complexity of the transfer market.”

As the January transfer window approaches, one thing is certain: Real Madrid’s pursuit of Nayef Aguerd will be one of the most closely watched transfer sagas of the winter.
