Nottingham Forest Slashes £5.9m Valuation of Unwanted Star

Nottingham Forest’s summer clear-out is showing no signs of slowing down, with Jota Silva the latest player to be linked with a move away from the City Ground.

According to reports, Sporting CP have made an offer to Forest to sign Silva on a permanent deal, with the Portuguese club eager to add the 25-year-old winger to their ranks.

Silva struggled to make an impact at Forest last season, starting just five Premier League games and largely being relegated to backup duty. It’s clear that manager Nuno Espirito Santo has deemed him surplus to requirements, and the club are now willing to listen to offers.

Initially, Forest were seeking £13 million for Silva’s services, but with interest scarce, they’ve been forced to slash their valuation. It’s believed the club would now accept £7 million for the winger, provided a 50% sell-on clause is included in the deal.

The move would pave the way for Forest to bring in a new winger, with Adama Traore linked with a reunion with Espirito Santo, his former boss at Wolves. Silva, meanwhile, would get the chance to revive his career in Portugal’s top flight.

Despite his limited impact at Forest, Silva has always given his all when called upon. However, it’s clear he fell short of the required quality to be a regular starter in the Premier League. A move to Sporting CP could be just what he needs to kickstart his career.
