West Ham United Confirm Signing of England Defender Kyle Walker-Peters

West Ham United have officially announced the signing of England defender Kyle Walker-Peters on a three-year contract, following his departure from Southampton. The 28-year-old full-back, who has earned two senior England caps, joins the Hammers after spending five seasons at Southampton’s St Mary’s Stadium, where he made over 200 appearances.

Walker-Peters expressed his excitement about the move, stating, “It feels like it has been a long time coming. I’ve been linked with a move to the Club in the past, and I’m just happy to be here now.” He added, “I like to play with intensity, give my all in every game, and I want to try and achieve special things here.”

West Ham Head Coach Graham Potter welcomed Walker-Peters to the team, expressing his long-held admiration for the player. Potter expects Walker-Peters to bring “high-quality competition and good character” to the team.

A product of Tottenham Hotspur’s academy, Walker-Peters made his Premier League debut in 2017. He was also part of the England squad that won the FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea the same year. With 148 Premier League appearances under his belt, Walker-Peters brings a wealth of experience to the Hammers.

The signing of Walker-Peters is a significant boost for West Ham United as they prepare for the new season. The team’s first league match is scheduled for August 16 against Sunderland. With Walker-Peters joining the squad, West Ham fans can expect an exciting season ahead.
