Ipswich Town Football Club’s Car Park Development Plan Approved

Ipswich Town Football Club has received approval for its proposal to develop a car park area behind the Sir Alf Ramsey Stand at its Portman Road Stadium. The development will feature 185 parking spaces, primarily for staff use on matchdays. This project is part of the club’s efforts to upgrade its facilities and improve infrastructure.

Ipswich Borough Council has deemed the proposal acceptable, citing that it meets requirements regarding air quality, flood risk, trees and biodiversity, design and character, car parking policy, and highway safety. This approval paves the way for the club to move forward with the development, which is expected to enhance the club’s infrastructure and provide improved facilities for staff, guests, and the nearby hotel.

This car park development is part of the club’s larger plans to upgrade its facilities. Ipswich Town Football Club has also submitted planning proposals for additional upgrades, including alterations to the stadium’s south-west corner. These upgrades include converting the current first-floor warehouse area into a two-storey office space and constructing a new mezzanine floor to connect it to the West Stand’s second-story press and media facilities.
