Debate surrounds West Ham’s transfer business as the summer window nears its close. The Hammers have been one of Europe’s busiest clubs, securing eight new signings. Technical director Tim Steidten and head coach Julen Lopetegui have worked in tandem to bring in fresh faces, including Luis Guilherme, Wes Foderingham, Max Kilman, and Niclas Fullkrug.

The club has also retained key stars like Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta. Many are hailing this as West Ham’s best ever transfer window. However, a top club source suggests up to three more signings could be made, dependent on shipping out surplus players.

Lopetegui has expressed his desire for further reinforcements, seeking two players for every position. In a recent Sky Sports interview, he revealed, “While the market is open, anything can happen… We try to talk with the players (we want to sign) and know all about them, not only about the football skills and quality of physical strength. The personality for me is very important – how is his ambition?”

This hints at potential late window moves for targets like Carlos Soler, Jhon Duran, and Tammy Abraham. Lopetegui’s emphasis on ambition and motivation suggests West Ham will only sign players who fit their vision. With the window still open, Hammers fans can expect further developments in the coming days.
