“Leeds United Transfer News: Everton Cool Interest in Wilfried Gnonto, Defender Price Tag Revealed”

July 30, 2024

Leeds United have received a significant boost in their efforts to keep Wilfried Gnonto, as Everton have reportedly cooled their interest in the winger. According to Football Transfers, the Toffees are unwilling to meet Gnonto’s valuation and are exploring alternative options.

This development comes as a relief to Leeds United, who have been keen to hold onto their talented young players. Gnonto, in particular, has been a subject of interest from several clubs, but Leeds are determined to keep him at Elland Road.

Meanwhile, Leeds United have been linked with a move for Gent defender Jordan Torunarigha, but will need to increase their offer to €5m (£4.2m) to secure his signature. The 26-year-old centre-back has impressed since joining Gent from Hertha Berlin in 2022 and is now into the final 12 months of his contract.

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has hinted that any remaining transfer activity will likely focus on full-back or central midfield reinforcements. The club has already made significant signings this summer, including the permanent transfer of Joe Rodon and the loan signing of Brenden Aaronson.

The Whites returned from their pre-season tour of Germany on Monday, having won both of their matches against Schalke and Ingolstadt. Farke’s side will now prepare to face Valencia on Saturday, before opening their league campaign against Portsmouth on August 11.

With the transfer window still open, Leeds United fans will be eagerly awaiting any further developments. Will the club make any more significant signings, or will they focus on developing their existing talent? Only time will tell.
