Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are poised to complete their fourth arrival of the summer window.
This offseason, Spurs have focused on reinforcing their defense, bringing in Jan Paul van Hecke, Marcos Senesi, and Andy Robertson—all of whom boast considerable Premier League experience and are expected to make an immediate impact under Roberto De Zerbi.
Now, Tottenham have reportedly finalized a deal for another veteran campaigner, one with nearly 300 top-flight appearances to his name.
Tottenham reach agreement for Martin Dubravka
Romano has given his trademark “here we go” confirmation regarding Martin Dubravka’s switch to Tottenham.
The 37-year-old, who will leave Burnley as a free agent at the end of June, has agreed to join as understudy to Antonin Kinsky next season.
Posting on X, Romano stated: “Martin Dubravka to Tottenham, here we go! Deal agreed for former Burnley and Man United goalkeeper to join THFC. Move completed today with Dubravka set to be backup GK at Spurs behind Kinski. Guglielmo Vicario to leave this summer.”
Is De Zerbi taking a gamble by placing faith in Antonin Kinsky?
Kinsky impressed tremendously in the closing stages of last season, producing key saves during Spurs’ final matches. In truth, without his contributions, the side may have faced relegation. De Zerbi appears ready to reward the young shot-stopper with the starting role.
Still, there’s an inherent risk—Kinsky has yet to prove himself over a full top-flight campaign, and only time will reveal whether this decision pays off.
