CARRAGHER BLASTS WEST HAM AS WOLVES DUMP HAMMERS OUT OF CARABAO CUP

Jamie Carragher tore into West Ham after their Carabao Cup humiliation at the hands of Wolves, warning the club is “sleepwalking into disaster” under Graham Potter.

The Hammers’ night at Molineux ended in yet more misery, a 3-2 defeat that leaves Potter’s men with three consecutive losses and mounting unrest in the stands. Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen struck twice to punish a shambolic West Ham backline, while the visitors looked a team utterly devoid of confidence and organisation.

Carragher didn’t hold back in his assessment. “This isn’t a blip – it’s a crisis. West Ham look lost, they’ve got no identity, no fight. Potter came in to steady the ship, but right now it’s sinking,” he blasted on Sky Sports. “If this carries on, they’ll be out of every competition by Christmas.”

The tension spilled over at full-time, with skipper Jarrod Bowen clashing with travelling supporters before issuing a grovelling apology. “I’ll always fight for this club, but I need to be better in how I react,” Bowen admitted.

Potter, however, cut a frustrated figure as he called for patience. “We’re all in pain. We need everybody together now, the players, the fans – all of us,” he said, though his words are unlikely to appease those who have already run out of faith.

Carragher was scathing of that response too. “Fans don’t want to hear about patience when they’ve just seen their side lose three on the bounce. West Ham look soft, and the manager looks powerless. Something has to change – fast,” he warned.

With pressure building, Potter faces a defining few weeks. For West Ham’s restless supporters, the excuses are wearing thin, and the knives are already out.
