Nottingham Forest Legend Announces Surprise Retirement from Football Duties

Nottingham Forest’s preparations for the new Premier League season have been dealt a blow with the departure of a key figure from the club’s academy setup. Lewis Grabban, a fan favourite during his playing days at the City Ground, has announced that he is stepping down from his role as coach of the under-21s and B-Team.

Grabban, who spent last season working with the youth ranks and helping the team to win the Premier League International Cup title, revealed the news on social media. Posting on Instagram, he said: “After a great year being back at Nottingham Forest, I have decided to step away from my role with the under-21s/B-Team. No doubt I will return soon when called upon.”

The news comes as a surprise, given that Grabban was recently tipped to replace Ross Wilson as the club’s Sporting Director. However, it seems that Grabban has decided to pursue other opportunities, leaving Forest to seek a replacement for the departing coach.

During his time at the club, Grabban was widely respected for his knowledge and passion for the game. His departure will be felt, but Forest will wish him well in his future endeavours. As Grabban himself said, he may return to the club in the future, and his legacy will continue to be felt through the young players he has coached.

Forest’s focus will now turn to finding a suitable replacement for Grabban, as they continue to prepare for the new season. With Nuno Espirito Santo seeking to bring in at least four new players, the club’s recruitment team will be working hard to identify the right targets.
